Why Your Online Reputation Matters

Your online reputation can influence major areas of your life, including university admissions, job opportunities, friendships, and relationships. It refers to the visible content about you online—such as posts, tags, photos, and comments—while your digital footprint includes everything else, like search history and cookies. Studies show over 80% of employers and universities will search your name online before offering interviews or placements. Poor online behaviour, even if meant as a joke, can lead to serious consequences, including being fired or rejected.
